His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej
at the Ceremony to Congratulate His Majesty
on the Auspicious Occasion of the 60th Anniversary Celebrations
of his Majesty's Accession to the Throne
at the Anata Samakhom Throne Hall
on 12 th June, B. E. 2549 (2006)
I'm so happy to be in the midst of this gathering of important people
from every institution of the country as well as to be
among Monarchs and Members of the Royal Families from all over
the world who have graciously come to
participate in the celebrations on this special occasion.
I thank the Prime Minister very much for the worlds of good wishes
expressed on behalf of the Thai people and for referring
to my work including the various development projects
during the past 60 years. I wish to say to every
one of you that the welfare and well-being of a country
does not depend on one person alone,
but is the duty of all the Thai people, who must endeavour
to do the best of their duty in order to maintain
and develop our country for greater security, progress and happiness.
As a Thai, I therefore have the same duty as all
the people of this country. Thus, I wish to thank you
all who have made every effort to do their best
according to their own abilities in order to
cooperate and support me in various activities
throughout the years. Finally, I wish to thank
all the Monarchs and Members of the Royal Families
from all parts of the world who have kindly
consented to come to participate in these celebrations.
May the grace of the Triple Gems and all that is
sacred watch over and protect you from
suffering and danger.
May you always be blessed with happiness, good health, and success.
